Puppy Training

Board and Train DESIGNED FOR DOGS OVER SIX MONTHS

Adult Dog Training

Leave your dog with us, and we’ll return them to you better behaved. Dogs get multiple daily 1:1 obedience lessons, supervised yard time, and walks in the woods to practice good dog behavior. After training is complete, both dog and owner are encouraged to attend weekly handler classes at Wilde Acres to solidify their pup’s learning.

What's Included
  • 2-Week Retreat:
    • This program is available for dogs 6-12 months old. It is predominantly focused on leash-walking and staying on the dog bed or in a down-stay while out and about in public.
    • Commands Include: Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Heel, On Your Bed, Fundamentals of on-leash obedience. Work on discouraging nuisance behaviors
  • 3-Week Retreat:
    • This program is available for dogs 6-18 months old. If you’re planning on attending only one training retreat, Wilde Acres recommends three weeks.
    • Commands include: Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Heel, On Your Bed, Fundamentals of on-leash obedience, Electronic collar training for off-leash recall (Come),  and working on discouraging nuisance behaviors
  • 4-Week Retreat:
    • A perfect training opportunity for dogs over six months and up to four years old. Wilde Acres recommends this training option if your dog is over 18 months old.
    • Commands Include: Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Heel, On Your Bed, Fundamentals of on-leash obedience, Electronic collar training to reinforce off-leash Come, On Your Bed, and Heel and working on discouraging nuisance behaviors

Dog Day Training

  • Remote training collar to use for off-leash training

Private Dog Training

Private dog training lessons are a great option for those who want to take on the task of training themselves but need a coach to point them in the right direction. Get tips from our expert team of dog trainers in a 1-on-1 format. We’ll take you through the process of learning about your dog and our training methods at your pace. Private dog training can be used to achieve any of your goals, such as obedience training, behavior modification, or certifications like Canine Good Citizen or AKC Trick Dog.

BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION

We offer custom behavior modification dog training packages. The length of stay depends on the dog’s age and severity of their issue. If you even think your dog might need extra help, contact us today—the earlier we can intervene, the better outcome you can expect. Additional 1-on-1 classes are included with this program.

Service Dog Training

A therapy or service dog can help you or others dealing with a myriad of physical disabilities, chronic illnesses, and even mental health challenges. This training is also a great opportunity for those who want their dog to receive a service dog certification.

Bird Dog Training

Let us help train your dog for a life as a hunting companion or competitive gun dog. While we can work with dogs of any age, our Bird Dog Training is designed for dogs ages 6-18 months. Our immersive upland game dog training program will set your pup on the path to becoming not only a sweet and well-mannered member of the family, but an upland game dog with incredible drive.
What You Can Expect
  • Puppy Fundamentals: manners and socialization
  • Upland Fundamentals: introduction to gunfire and live birds
  • Commands: Come & Heel as well as specific upland game dog training commands Whoa, Fetch & Easy
  • Pointing and staying steady on the flush and shot
  • Refining range, making sure your dog continues working in your desired area
  • Continuing to strengthen manners and finished obedience behaviors

everyone who completes a retreat is eligible for

post retreat handler classes

Every training retreat at Wilde Acres includes six follow-up sessions called Post Retreat Handler Classes. After a dog has completed a training retreat, both owner and dog are eligible to attend the weekly handler classes.

Handler classes are designed to help dog owners handle their dogs the way the Wilde Acres staff did, thus getting better behaviors. These classes will help owners feel completely confident in their dog and their skills. Wilde Acres staff recommends attending at least three handler classes.
