Day School is a new program at Wilde Acres. Day School dogs attend twice a week for four consecutive weeks, either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. This is a great alternative to a board and train retreat for those who may not want to leave their dog for several weeks in a row, or for dogs with specific concerns such as physical or medical limitations.
By choosing this option, you establish the plan for your dog’s entire training journey, making the most of that special window to formulate good behaviors from the beginning, rather than trying to fix them after the fact. The Built From the Ground Up retreat is a perfect opportunity to do training right. Book your package today!
For those looking for a single retreat, Wilde Acres offers two, three, and four-week Standalone Training Retreats for young dogs aged 6-18 months old. After a dog has completed a training retreat, both owner and dog are eligible to attend weekly handler classes offered at Wilde Acres. The daily schedule of any training retreat includes 1-on-1 obedience lessons and walks in the woods to practice good dog behavior. If dogs are dog-friendly, they will have employee supervised play-time with other dogs. If dogs are dog-aggressive, they will have supervised yard time on their own.
Wilde Acres is proud to offer behavior modification programs. Most dogs entering a behavior modification program will require four to eight weeks of training. The length of stay depends on the dog’s age and the issue’s severity. If your dog has bitten a human, the minimum stay is four weeks. If you think your dog might need extra help, come to Wilde Acres—the earlier the better.
Wilde Acres will create a custom behavior modification package that works best for you and your pup. Additional 1-on-1 classes are included with this program.
Private lessons are a great option for those who want to take on the task of training their dog themselves but need a coach. You and your dog will benefit from the intensive training Wilde Acres offers, in a unique one-on-one format. We’ll take you through the process of learning about your dog and our training methods at your pace.
Wilde Acres can help train your dog for a life as a hunting companion or competitive gun dog. Grooming is the regular maintenance of your pet’s skin, coat, nails, and ears. To keep your pup’s skin and coat in good condition while also maintaining your pet’s coat at home, bring your dog regularly to a professional groomer. This relationship is important to your dog’s overall health.
