Dog Trainer
Wilde Acres gives priority to applicants with professional dog training experience, who have graduated from a formal program, completed apprenticeships, and/or attended seminars.
Responsibilities & Required Qualifications
- Handle and train dogs (puppies to adults) from drop-off through completing the training retreat
- Customer service, including interfacing with dog owners on-site
- Facilitate pickups and deliveries of both dogs and supplies
- Kennel tech work, including cleaning dog kennels
- Feed, bathe, and walk/exercise dogs
- Monitor/supervise playgroups
- Comprehensive understanding of leash pressure and electronic collars
Kennel Tech
Responsibilities & Required Qualifications
- Feed dogs and replenish their water
- Administer medications
- Walk dogs
- Facilitate playtimes with dogs in fenced yards
- Clean kennels inside and out
- Greet clients and dogs when they arrive for drop-off
- Maintain a safe facility
- Bond with and love on dogs all day!
Office Staff
People in these roles are often the first contacts a customer has with Wilde Acres and thus are extremely important positions within the facility. The front desk is a hub of activity facilitating the arrival and departure of boarding and training dogs, managing registration for all the services offered at Wilde Acres, answering inquiries, coordinating between various employees, supporting the owner, and generally upholding a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
Responsibilities & Required Qualifications
- Oversee the registration intake process considering kennel space, services provided, special accommodations, Wilde Acres policies, and client requests
- Manage all Wilde Acres communication by phone, email, website, or through the software program in a thorough, efficient, and responsive manner
- Choreograph front office drop-off and pick-up schedules to provide a calm transfer experience with individual attention for each customer
- Update and edit the Wilde Acres website with current and new information
- Facilitate payment for services through various systems in secure, accountable processes with accuracy
- Coordinate owners’ schedules with kennel schedule
- Communicate with the software provider (Gingr) as a power user
- Suggest and develop new systems and policies as the business grows and evolves
- Maintain and order inventory for the facility
- Support Wilde Acres in other duties as appropriate to ensure it is the best boarding and dog training facility in Maryland
- Superior communication and customer service skills
- Fluency in electronic systems and office programs
- Proven track record as an excellent customer service representative
- Able to triage and manage multiple demands calmly and efficiently
- Dependable, professional, detail-oriented, organized, independent problem solver with job autonomy
- Previous experience in a front desk, service-oriented position
