Looking to get your new puppy trained as quickly as possible? Our puppy training boot camp makes the most of that special window to formulate good behaviors, rather than trying to fix them after-the-fact. Our Puppy Training Retreats are designed to build from the ground up, ensuring solid training fundamentals from the get-go.
For this immersive experience, your puppy lives onsite at Wilde Acres. To optimize a puppy’s learning style, we break our puppy training camp into two parts:
Your puppy returns to Wilde Acres when it’s 7-9 months old to reinforce skills learned in Basic Training, introduce off-leash training, and build trust and confidence with their handler.
2, 4, 6, 8-week packages available
At four months old, your puppy stays at Wilde Acres to learn our on-leash training fundamentals. When you pick them up, we’ll provide you with a 1-on-1 training session so you can keep the learning going at home.
After Basic Training, attend weekly classes with your puppy to further develop on-leash training.
Your puppy returns for another stay at 7-9 months to build upon lessons from Basic Training and learn off-leash skills. When you pick them up, we’ll provide you with another 1-on-1 training session so you can keep the learning going at home.
After Advanced Training, attend weekly classes with your puppy for more practice.
The daily schedule includes multiple 1-on-1 obedience lessons and walks in the woods to practice good dog behavior. If your puppy is dog-friendly, they will have employee supervised playtime with other dogs. If your dog is not, they will have supervised yard time on their own.
While the puppy training bootcamp is the most efficient way to train your new pet, we do also have a doggy day school if you prefer to have your puppy back home every night after training.
Absolutely thrilled with the experience for my 4-month-old pup! After three weeks of training, we were blown away by the results! From the moment of drop-off, it was evident that the entire team is passionate about what they do, ensuring your furry friend is in the best hands possible. Carter, Jen, Melanie, Heather, and the entire crew are simply outstanding. I can't speak highly enough of this facility and we look forward to the follow up training and boarding opportunities they provide.

Carter and his entire team are the absolute best! It took some convincing for me to leave my puppy at Wilde Acres for the two week retreat but I was so happy with the results that I sent her back for the second retreat. Carter was amazing and so patient with answering all of my questions. I now get so many compliments on how well behaved my dog is and that is all thanks to Wilde Acres! Can't recommend this amazing team enough!

Our dog went to a three week training with Carter and his staff which was a great experience. Our dog quickly mastered multiple commands and walks on a leash like a dream. Staff is professional and knowledgeable. The facility is impressive and very well cared for. We will continue to depend on Wilde Acres expertise for boarding and training.

The longer puppies train at Wilde Acres, the better their responses become. Ultimately, this means you’ll have greater control of your dogs’ behavior throughout its life. Plus, the more weeks you buy, the more you save each week.
When you book, we’ll schedule both retreats upfront, so you have your entire training program in place. We’ll require a $600 deposit to hold your reservation. This is refundable within 7 days of your start date if you choose to cancel. The remaining balance will be due upon drop-off for Basic Training.
Every training retreat at Wilde Acres includes six follow-up sessions called Post Retreat Handler Classes. After a dog has completed a training retreat, both owner and dog are eligible to attend the weekly handler classes.
Handler classes are designed to help dog owners handle their dogs the way the Wilde Acres staff did, thus getting better behaviors. These classes will help owners feel completely confident in their dog and their skills. Wilde Acres staff recommends attending at least three handler classes.
