Wilde Acres was LIFE CHANGING! Carter returned a dog to our family that was well trained, CONNECTED, and happy! Carter and the staff are truly amazing. When we dropped off our nine-month-old Golden Retriever we were cautiously optimistic. We were hoping Carter could help but also knew that this was our last resort. If this didn’t work out we were going to have to rehome the dog. We had already spent A LOT of money and time on a behavioral therapist without success. After three weeks at Wilde Acres, we picked up a totally different dog. Not only did our dog have behavioral issues, but he also had digestive issues and could only eat very specific prescription food. This made training him next to impossible because we had nothing to motivate him and we lost complete control of the dog. He was aggressive in certain situations and absolutely unresponsive to simple commands. We have had our puppy home for a month now and he is doing GREAT! Loves to be off-leash and comes back on command. Thank you Carter and staff at Wilde Acres for turning our crazy and aggressive dog into a super awesome, sweet, and lovable dog!

We ended up with two rescue puppies early this year because I couldn't say no to either of them. But with multiple jobs and three little boys at home, I was failing miserably with any type of training and keeping them under control. We finally saved up and splurged on a training retreat with Wilde Acres. I didn’t expect them to come back perfectly behaved (they are still puppies after all), but Carter and Wilde Acres got them both to a more controlled, responsive place and gave us the foundation we desperately needed. We still have work to do and will be attending our follow-up classes, but I can honestly say any ‘slip backs” we’ve had have been completely human error on my end. Meeting Carter and his staff, you can just feel the love and passion he has for dogs and training. He is realistic, kind, humane, but no nonsense which is exactly what we needed. And he's patient with us, the dumb humans. Wilde Acres gives you concise and easy-to-understand rules of thumb and Carter will definitely go out of his way to make sure your dogs have what they need. We have also done boarding for our weekend trips and our dogs LOVE it. They have plenty of space to run and play and we don’t have to worry about them being stuck in a crate or kennel all day. They are loved, interacted with, and cared for! The staff is amazing at making sure they follow all diet/medication routines. All the people I have interacted with, whether office staff or training staff, have been nothing short of professional and warm/welcoming! I can’t imagine boarding my dogs anywhere else in the future!

Carter changed our life. When we brought our 2nd Aussie, Chief, into our family, we had no idea what we were in for. Chief was the complete opposite of our older Aussie. We took Chief to a number of trainers, spent way too much money, and were even referred to a dog behavioral specialist by one of our previous trainers because they were convinced something was wrong with our dog. We eventually just had to change our lifestyle to accommodate the dynamic Chief brought into the family. We used to hike, camp, and go to breweries, always bringing our older dog along. After Chief, we decided that was no longer going to be the case. Until we met Carter. After one session, we saw a complete change in Chief's behavior. Before meeting Carter it was miserable taking Chief on a walk, he had horrible leash aggression, constantly pulled, and always barked at other dogs. After multiple sessions, it was like we had a completely different dog. We had hope that we could go back to doing the things we loved, with our dogs! Fast forward to today. We now go camping, hiking, running, and anything else you can imagine because of the tools Carter gave us. We cannot recommend Carter highly enough. He truly changed our lives!
